Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Monday, January 20, saw dancehall artiste Ishawna in attendance, prompting disappointment expressed by many on social media.

“Presidential inauguration 2025…it was an honour to witness such a historical moment,” Ishawna wrote on her Instagram.

“That’s why yuh career stagnant,” one user wrote.

“She a look attention,” another wrote.

“This is not worth the attention…she bout to lose the five fans she has,” one wrote.

“So, she thought this was a flex?” another wrote. “Supporting the man that doesn’t support equal rights and justice is wild.”

Some fans defended Ishawna amidst the criticism, arguing that she has the right to attend events and support whomever she chooses. Social media influencer, ChineyK commented: “I doubt she cares about y’all opinions, cause where y’all at?”

Ishawna has also received support from fellow artistes Pamputtae, and many others who agree with her support for the 47th President, Donald Trump’s inauguration.
