Following the high profile Grammy Awards last Sunday (April 3), dancehall queen Spice, who was nominated for her first Grammy, was listed among the best/hottest/favourite looks by several media outlets.

The dancehall queen, who was decked in a voluminous red rose robe and a see-through lace ensemble, shared the news last evening on her Instagram account with her ‘Besties’.

The DJ, who wore a green wig instead of her signature blue, penned a caption that explained the meaning behind her choice of outfit.

“Besties Watch Graci !! I’m among the best dressed category for the Grammys Red carpet in every media outlet. Thanks @rollingstone @yahoo @cnn @gettyimages and all the others💙💙💙,” she started.

“The inspiration behind the this 90[lb] roses🌹robe dress is me growing from the garden. You know they always try to cover me up, but they don’t know that I’m a seed, so the more dirt thrown at me is the more I’ll continue to grow ❤️❤️❤️,” she said.

Jamaican celebrities including Shaggy and Demarco took to the comment section to congratulate the star.

Shaggy, the executive producer of her Grammy nominated album, 10, wrote: “Mission accomplished!! 👏👏👏👏.”

Spice was listed by media platforms including Philadelphia radio station 93.3 WWMR Rock, CNN and Rolling Stone magazine.

The Go Down Deh DJ’s project was nominated in the Best Reggae album category. Other nominees included Etana, Sean Paul, Gramps Morgan, Jesse Royal and American band SOJA, who eventually took home the award.

In a subsequent post, Spice went on to thank Shaggy for his instrumental role in the release of her album.

Dubbing him her ‘hero’, she described the process as magical while also acknowledging his wife, Rebecca Packer, as well as Sean Paul and his spouse, Jodi Stewart.
