Measures to improve efficiencies at Spur Tree Spices paid off as the company reported its best quarterly results with both revenues and profits increasing.

For the third quarter (Q3) ending September 30, 2025, the food manufacturing entity increased revenues to $638.21 million or by 51.8 per cent when compared to the same period in 2024. At the same time, it generated operating profit of $93.15 million, more than doubling the $40.22 million earned in Q3 2024, as the company managed to keep its administrative expenses close to that of Q3 2024.

Total comprehensive income for the period was $81.41 million, up from $31.30 million. Earnings per share rose to $0.049 versus $0.019.

“We planned for better supply, tightened our execution, monitored market changes closely, and maintained strong collaboration with our distribution partners. The improvement in Q3 shows that the strategy is working. We will continue to build on this foundation and position the business for sustained strong results,” shared Spur Tree Spices CEO Albert Bailey in a release on the company’s performance.

On the sales side, Spur Tree Spices ramped up its marketing efforts by strengthening relationships with current distributors while onboarding new sub-distributors. In addition, the company engaged in in-person promotions at select outlets while increasing its e-commerce channels.

The company launched its Amazon e-commerce window in 2024 as part of a digital expansion strategy and committed to increasing its e-commerce presence in 2025 in partnership with Amazon and Walmart. It also has a presence on Caribshopper.com.

Spur Tree Spices will continue to focus on growing its distributor reach in both local and export markets while working with local distributors to maintain shelf availability.

Meanwhile, the company strengthened its supply chain of ackees, a major export product, after securing farmlands to engage in the cultivation of the fruit.

“Equally significant, the core products in the portfolio, seasonings and sauces, returned to growth during the quarter,” the release outlined.

Bailey credited the results to the overall performance of the Spur Tree Spices team.

“Our people did exceptional work this quarter. Every improvement in supply, production, and market execution came from their effort and commitment. We are grateful for their support, and we look forward to finishing the year with the same discipline and energy,” he stated.

For the nine months, Spur Tree Spices improved revenues from $1.15 billion in Q3 2024 to $1.32 billion.

Bailey pointed out that this achievement is “a substantial turnaround from the negative position recorded at the end of the second quarter”.

The Spur Tree Spices CEO anticipates the company will finish the year strong, with demand expected to pick up during Christmas. However, he is keenly aware of headwinds such as tariffs, inflation, and softer demand, which continue to influence sales.
