British singer and actor Sting says that musicians should expect a looming battle in the next couple of years to protect their human capital aginst artificial intelligence (AI).
Sting comments comes after an uproar in the public domain and musicians about the use of AI to write songs and ‘clone’ vocals of musicians.
In an interview with CNN, Sting expressed that the building blocks of music belonged to human beings.
“That’s going to be a battle we all have to fight in the next couple of years: Defending our human capital against AI,” he said.

Despite predicting a battle between AIs, the Every Breath You Take singer said that AIs are useful, however, human beings have to be one driving them.
“I don’t think we can allow the machines to just take over. We have to be wary,” he said.
Sting, whose given name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, has had an illustrious musical career having won 17 Grammy Awards and three Brit Awards.
