Strong international interest in Jamaica’s beauty and personal care industry is one of the positive outcomes from the staging of Expo Jamaica 2025.

Vice President of Exports, Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), Sonja Linton, said that Jamaica is poised to capitalise on this lucrative market.

“They [showed] strong interest [in this area]. When you think of the natural resources that we have here in Jamaica – the coconut oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil – this, in fact, is a growing industry and [there is a lot of research] and value-added products coming out of that industry,” she told JIS News.

Jamaica’s beauty and personal care market is best known for its use of high-grade, natural and organic products.

Information from global data and business intelligence platform, STATISTA, indicates that the beauty and personal care market in Jamaica is projected to generate revenue of US$248.09 million in 2025.

“It is one of the sectors that we are looking at. We are working to strengthen it to realise its full potential,” she said.

With an annual growth rate of 3.25 per cent, the market is expected to continue expanding.

The largest segment in the market is personal care, which is estimated to reach a market volume of US$112.91 million in 2025.
