Submachine gun found on school compound in St Elizabeth

St Elizabeth police have seized a submachine gun that was found in the possession of a seven-year-old student at an undisclosed school in St Elizabeth on Wednesday, September 11.

Superintendent, and head of the St Elizabeth police, Coleridge Minto confirmed the incident.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has assured the public that it will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including how the weapon was acquired and brought to school.

In the meantime, the police are focusing on ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved.

The JCF has promised to keep the public informed as the situation develops.
