Derillion expanding green energy solutions in CARICOM region.
Aqvastor Technologies Limited, a subsidiary of Derillion Energy Limited, is announcing the development of a state-of-the-art High Voltage Battery Plant in Jamaica. The new facility, located in Lake Pen, St. Catherine, will play a critical role in advancing sustainable energy solutions for the region. The plant will include an automated high-voltage battery assembly and testing capabilities, as well as a complete PCB assembly line.
This new manufacturing hub represents a major milestone for the Derillion Group as it continues to expand its green energy footprint. The company is committed to providing cutting-edge battery technology to support renewable energy projects throughout the Caribbean.

“We are thrilled to move forward with this exciting venture in Jamaica,” said Simon Piggott, CEO of Derillion Group. “Our new High Voltage Battery Plant will help fuel the growing demand for clean energy storage and is a testament to our commitment to innovation in the green energy space.”
The plant will initially focus on the assembly and testing of high-voltage batteries, with Phase One aimed at achieving an annual production capacity of 200 MWh. As the project progresses, Phase Two will see the expansion into Sodium Ion battery cell production, which will supply up to 500 MWh per year to the CARICOM region. This development will help address the region’s increasing need for reliable energy storage solutions as it moves towards a more sustainable future.
A key feature of the new high-voltage system is the incorporation of the company’s proprietary ZERO-D technology. This breakthrough technology provides a 20-year capacity performance warranty, ensuring the long-term reliability and efficiency of the batteries produced at the plant.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Jamaican government, particularly JAMPRO and the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, for their invaluable support in navigating the approvals process,” added Simon Piggott. “Their guidance has been essential in bringing this project to fruition.”
The first customer for the new battery technology will be Derillion Energy Jamaica Limited’s project on the Mona Reservoir Floating Solar and Energy Storage Project, marking a significant milestone in the region’s transition to renewable energy. Following Cabinet approvals in 2022, the project has now secured all necessary permits from NEPA and KSAC, along with a Generating License issued from the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport. Construction of the project is set to begin in the coming weeks.
This new High Voltage Battery Plant represents the Derillion Group’s dedication to driving energy innovation and supporting the CARICOM region’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
