After being detained for more than a year, “fake German heiress” Anna Sorokin will be released from prison on a US$$10,000 bond.

The Russia-born socialite became the subject of discussion earlier this year when Netflix released Inventing Anna – a drama series that detailed the trial of the Instagram-legendary heiress who stole the hearts and money of New York elites.

Sorokin was arrested and convicted of attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree and theft of services in 2017 and was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison.

She spent four years behind bars and was released in February 2021 on good behaviour.

However, a month later she was arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for overstaying her visa.

Sorokin’s attorney, John Sandweg, shared that she was granted release from ICE custody yesterday (October 5) as she continues to fight deportation.

“After 17 months of immigration detention, an immigration judge recognised that immigration detention was no longer necessary for Anna and ordered her release subject to various conditions of supervision,” said Sandweg.

“She will continue to face deportation proceedings and her release will be closely monitored by ICE and the State of New York,” he added.

Delvey has reportedly been banned from accessing any social media platform, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok. She is also banned from posting either directly or as a third party.
