Top sports marketer Tanya Lee-Perkins has joined the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) as an ambassador aimed at taking football’s governing body to the next level in a critical area of its operation —sponsorships.

“It is an honour to serve as a JFF ambassador. I am passionate about football and committed to helping the teams as they prepare for the various qualifying campaigns,” said Lee-Perkins.

Lee-Perkins, who is the head of Leep Marketing, is a reputable marketing consultant and sports management professional with over 20 years’ experience. She is also a sports columnist with the Gleaner newspaper.

She has managed elite athletes across football, track and field, and motorsports, with her roster over the years including Reggae Boyz Captain Andre Blake, Damion Lowe, Christopher Taylor and Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce to name a few.

The former vice-president of marketing at SportsMax, she led campaigns across 31 countries, establishing the network as the region’s most-watched sports channel. She also directed marketing efforts for global properties such as the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, NBA, FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014, 2018), and the Olympics.

The JFF said it’s a pivotal step in strengthening the team’s connections with stakeholders and sponsors. JFF General Secretary Dennis Chung noted moreover that she is a trailblazer in sports marketing and athlete management and brings a proven track record to the role.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tanya as an ambassador, as we take another step in strengthening relationships with our stakeholders. We are confident her expertise in marketing, sponsorship, and public relations will elevate the JFF,” said Chung.

JFF President Michael Ricketts also welcomed the appointment.

“We are confident that Tanya will be an asset to the Federation. She carries a wealth of knowledge and experience in her craft and trust that her skillset will lead to further growth and success in the area of sponsorship and engagement,” he noted.
