The Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo), a limited liability company established on April 15, 1996, is marking 30 years of service to the development and enhancement of Jamaica’s tourism product.
Over the past three decades, TPDCo has played a pivotal role in improving tourism standards, strengthening community-based tourism, building workforce capacity, and supporting licensing and regulatory compliance across the island.
The milestone anniversary will be commemorated with a series of activities, beginning with a live Outside Broadcast on RJR 94’s Hotline hosted by Emily Sheilds on Friday, April 17, 2026, to be aired from TPDCo’s Boardroom. The broadcast will feature key representatives of the organisation and industry partners, highlighting TPDCo’s impact and contributions to Jamaica’s tourism sector over the past 30 years.

This will be followed by a Thanksgiving Church Service on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Grace Missionary Church. The service will include remarks from the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, who is expected to highlight the organisation’s contribution to Jamaica’s tourism success story.
As part of the celebrations, TPDCo will also host a Staff and Long Service Awards Ceremony, recognising the dedication and contributions of team members who have helped shape the organisation over the years. Several employees being honoured have served since the early years of TPDCo, reflecting a strong legacy of commitment and institutional knowledge.
Later in the year, the company will extend its recognition efforts to industry stakeholders and partners, acknowledging the critical role of collaboration in building a resilient and competitive tourism sector.
In keeping with its forward-looking approach, TPDCo will also introduce a digital engagement initiative titled “Talk to TPDCo Live.” This 30-minute live Q&A series, to be streamed on YouTube in July and October 2026, will focus on Licensing and Registration processes and Destination Assurance. The initiative forms part of a six-month Licensing Expo Tour across Jamaica’s seven tourism destination areas, aimed at improving accessibility, compliance, and stakeholder awareness.
Executive Director of TPDCo, Wade Mars, noted that the 30th anniversary is both a celebration and a call to action.
“As we celebrate 30 years, we reflect on the significant progress made in strengthening Jamaica’s tourism product. At the same time, we remain focused on the future – continuing to drive quality, innovation, and inclusive growth within the sector,” he said.
As the organisation looks ahead, the focus remains clear: driving quality, building resilience, and ensuring that tourism delivers greater value for every Jamaican.
