The Transport Authority has published new fees for wrecking service operations islandwide, which became effective January 2, 2024.

Managing Director of the Transport Authority Ralston Smith explained that the adjustments to the fee structure are geared towards the authority’s move to cauterise the exorbitant wrecking fees charged by the various private service providers.

“The agreement is designed to govern the conduct and behaviour of wrecker operators and to further manage the charge for the services they render,” he said in a published release.

Under the new structure, approved by the police and wrecker operators, the following fees were established.

5km radius of pound$12,000$22,500
Per kilo over 5km radius $600$800
No key charge $4,500$6,000

Smith has stressed that the wrecker fee rates must be adhered
