Recent travel data has listed the picturesque Caribbean island of Jamaica as the top preferred travel destination.

Destination tracking agency, Travel Agent Central has given Jamaica the top travel destination. Jamaica has long been one of the world’s most idyllic vacation destinations for worldly travellers and is now leading the world in terms of demand by travellers searching for destinations.

Boasting lush topography of mountains, dazzling rainforests and reef-lined beaches, Jamaica offers its visitors a wide variety of activities to enjoy within a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.

New data from another travel destination tracker, Allianz Partners shows that Aruba and Jamaica are the most popular Caribbean destinations for Americans this holiday season.

Montego Bay, the top Caribbean destination on the list

The travel insurance company’s data found that Caribbean destinations dominate the list of most favoured holiday destinations for Americans this winter. That includes Montego Bay, the top Caribbean destination on the list, followed by Oranjestad, Aruba and then Nassau, The Bahamas. 

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos also made the top 10. Allianz compiled the data by analyzing the number of customers that went through online airfare booking and package paths for partners offering Allianz Global Assistance travel insurance. 

Just under four million itineraries were analysed. The data covered trips with outbound itineraries between December 18 and returning by December 30.

Jamaica is well-prepared to meet the newly announced one-day testing requirement of the US government and assist both international travellers returning home as well as Jamaicans visiting the US, effective December 6, 2021. The destination has established ample testing locations throughout the island with both antigen and PCR tests available.

In addition to multiple lab facilities and testing capability at both its Montego Bay and Kingston airports, many of the island’s resorts and hotels offer approved testing services on-property, making the departure process even more seamless. Jamaica offers pre-booking for return tests to ensure results are provided in time to meet departure needs.

Jamaica already has an established partnership with three approved private laboratories to provide travellers with seamless in-hotel antigen or PCR tests. Tests can be easily scheduled in advance – even prior to a traveller’s arrival on island – through each lab’s dedicated online booking platform.
