Jamaicans are being advised to expect increased rainfall across the island for the remainder of the week due to a Trough located to the west of Jamaica.

According to Jamaica Meteorological Service, the Trough is expected to linger across the western Caribbean for the remainder of the week and will continue to generate unstable weather conditions across the island.

Fisherfolks are being advised to exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms, especially on the north coast.

The weather forecast is predicted to be mostly cloudy with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times through the weekend.

The Meteorological Service says it will continue to monitor the system.
