Two cops found guilty on assault charges 4 years after incident

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says two members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) have been found guilty of assaulting a man and occasioning bodily harm four years ago.

According to INDECOM, the incident took place on October 13, 2019, in the vicinity of Regent Street, Kingston 14.

Constables Kenroy Chambers and Tevin Lake were put before the court by summons in February 2021, following an investigation by INDECOM and a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The constables were charged on Tuesday, October 24, when they appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

The lawmen are set to return to court for sentencing on January 15, 2024.
