Eligible individuals, community-based organisations and non-government organisations have been given a July 29 deadline to submit concepts notes for projects, covering a range of areas, which could earn them grants of up to US$24,000 from the United States Embassy in Kingston.
The Embassy said that, for its 2022 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), it is seeking proposals for projects in the following areas:
- Programmes that demonstrate active partnership between the United States and Jamaica to address new and evolving security challenges, including cybersecurity;
- Programmes that support a long-term investment in US-Jamaican ties through educational, cultural, professional, and other exchanges between our two countries;
- Programmes that have a national reach and impact by linking likeminded organisations across community divides; and
- Programmes that highlight or foster US-Jamaican cooperation to address the climate crisis.

The Embassy said the proposals should demonstrate creativity, substance, and relevance to national goals relating to one of the topic areas above. Preference will also be given to projects that align with US State Department goals of:
- Safeguarding the Homeland and US Citizens
- Increased Trade and Shared Economic Growth
- Addressing Caribbean Health Challenges
- Strengthening the US-Jamaica Partnership on Global Issues on the Island, throughout the region and around the world.
