The University of Technology (UTech), Jamaica, has announced new dates for the 2025 graduation ceremony, which was postponed by the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
It says two ceremonies will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, and one on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium.
Marion Brown, Vice President and University Registrar, said in a media release on Wednesday, “Given the immediate need for recovery and the ongoing challenges faced by our university community, the rescheduled dates took into consideration the need to provide everyone with adequate time to recover and to plan for their attendance.”
The first ceremony on January 31 will commence at 9 am and will accommodate graduands from the College of Health Sciences, Faculty of Science and Sport and Faculty of Law.
The second ceremony will commence at 4 pm and will accommodate graduands from the Joint Colleges of Medicine, Oral Health and Veterinary Sciences; Faculty of Engineering and Computing; and Faculty of the Built Environment.
The ceremony on February 1 will commence at 10 am and will accommodate graduands from the College of Business and Management, Faculty of Education and Liberal Studies and UTechOpen – School of Lifelong Learning and Professional Development.
