UWI’s MSBM hosts AI showcase for students

The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, Faculty of Engineering, played host to an event that thrust students into the heart of Artificial Intelligence’s (AI) construction, practical applications and potential impact on Caribbean enterprises.

The session, led by Ryan Simons, founder and CEO of DenArthur Analytics, and Anand Mahurkar, founder and CEO of Findability Sciences, showcased for students real-world applications of AI-driven data analytics within various sectors in Jamaica, including the financial, governance, and tourism sectors, with emphasis on its potential in the healthcare industry.

DenArthur, Findability Sciences, and The UWI’s leadership have begun strategic discussions to lay the groundwork for a promising partnership in aims of incorporating AI education into the curriculum of the Mona School of Business and Management (MSMB), to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the intricacies of an AI-driven future.
