

Career Banker and noted Public Servant Norman Reid has passed following a long battle with illness.
Reid’s family announced his passing on Tuesday, remembering him as “a loving husband, father, brother and friend who touched countless lives”.
Reid was known for his stellar career as a senior banking executive with the National Commercial Bank, which spanned 40 years.
He served in the capacity of senior assistant general manager at his last posting. His areas of expertise spanned credit analysis, underwriting, sales, internal audit, change management, operations and training.
Up to the time of his passing, Reid was the Chairman of the Ex-Im Bank, FirstRock Real Estate and Sam Sharpe Teachers College. He also served as a Director of the Western Regional Health Authority and the Housing Agency of Jamaica.
Reid was a Justice of the Peace for the parish of St James and is a Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance. He leaves behind his wife Pauleen, and his two children, Ryan, executive chairman of FirstRock and Rochelle.
