World-renowned online streamer, YouTuber and professional gamer Richard ‘Ninja’ Blevins, 32, announces that he is now cancer-free.

Blevins, during a routine dermatologist check-up, was informed of the diagnosis after a mole on the bottom of his foot was biopsied and found to be melanoma. Just over a week later, he took to X.com to post his follow-up, sharing that he is now officially cancer-free.

“Just got the news from my dermatologist,” wrote Ninja, “Great news X2! Excision was successful with clear margins. A lesion biopsied nearby showed only mild atypia and was entirely removed with the biopsy. As of right now, I am officially cancer-free ^_^ thank you all for the prayers and kind words this last week.”

The gamer ended his post by telling his followers, “Love you all.”

Melanoma facts from the Melanoma Research Foundation:

  • Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer.
  • Melanoma is not just skin cancer. It can develop anywhere on the body – eyes, scalp, nails, feet, mouth, etc.
  • Melanoma does not discriminate by age, race or gender.
  • The lifetime risk of getting melanoma is about 1-in-40 for Caucasians, 1-in-200 for Hispanics and 1-in-1,000 for African Americans.
  • Skin cancer in people of colour is often diagnosed in later stages, making it more difficult to treat.
