Aisha Syed is recognised as one of the world’s foremost violinists and she came to perform in Jamaica last week at King’s House in Kingston as part of the programme of events for the second edition of the Dominican Republic-Jamaica Business Forum.
The aim here is to fortify both commercial and cultural ties between the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
Aisha Syed was accompanied by Jamaican concert pianist Dr Roger Williams, vice president at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Aisha became the first Latin American admitted to the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in England studying under the tutelage of Natasha Boyarsky.
