Incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel was granted an expedited hearing from the United Kingdom Privy Council to appeal his life sentence for the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

The news was confirmed by his attorney Isat Buchanan, who told Fox News in an interview. The ‘World Boss’ and his co-accused Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones are scheduled to appear in court from February 14 – 15, 2024.

Kartel’s appeal was initially scheduled for April 16 to 18, 2024. However, the hearing was expedited due to the dancehall artiste’s ongoing health condition.

It was previously reported that Kartel was battling an autoimmune disorder known as Graves’ disease and two alleged heart conditions. Reports are that his condition is worsening, and he requires surgery.

Kartel and his co-accused were slapped with life sentences in 2014 for the murder of Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew.
