When Hurricane Melissa swept through Jamaica’s western parishes, the destruction was stark—homes damaged, communities struggling to recover, and a strong need for coordinated relief efforts. Into this space stepped Kadeen Mairs, founder and CEO of Dequity Capital Group, with a mission not just of business growth—but of genuine giving.

Mairs is a Westmoreland native who, as he says in the video, grew up in a board house. So for him, the destruction in Westmoreland is very person.

In a post on Instagram, Mairs shared a short video from this relief mission: “Unite for Westmoreland: Building Back Stronger Together.” The clip shows Dequity’s team on the ground in Westmoreland parish, engaging directly with affected residents—handing out supplies, coordinating with local groups, and rolling up their sleeves amid the clean-up.
