Dancehall artiste ‘Popcaan’ was fined a measly J$6,000 when he appeared before the St Thomas Parish Court in Morant Bay this morning (January 10), on four charges stemming from breaches at ‘Unruly Fest’ last December.

The Unruly boss, whose real name is Andrae Sutherland, pleaded guilty to the charges of threat, using abusive and calumnious language, using indecent language, and disorderly conduct, each attracting a maximum fine of J$2,000.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of breaching the Noise Abatement Act, after his lawyer Matthew Hyatt revealed to Judge Sanchia Burrell that the artiste’s name was not among those listed on the permit issued for the staging of Unruly Fest.

He will reappear in court, this time in Yallahs, on February 9.
