Wendy’s Jamaica is spreading holiday cheer with the official opening of its newest restaurant in Whitter Village, Montego Bay.

The restaurant represents an investment of over $300 million, bringing fresh, high-quality meals and economic opportunities to the community. While customers were first served on September 28, the grand opening celebration on December 12 marked a festive milestone. This event highlights Wendy’s deepening commitment to delivering exceptional service and supporting the economic growth of communities across Jamaica.

Wendy’s second advent into Montego Bay forms part of the brand’s strategic efforts to expand beyond the Kingston and St. Andrew metropolitan area and broaden its contribution to Jamaica’s economic development. The Whitter Village restaurant has already begun contributing to the local economy. With 28 positions available, Wendy’s has hired 16 team members to date, providing much-needed job opportunities for residents in the area. This new location underscores Wendy’s commitment to supporting the Montego Bay community through employment, local partnerships, and long-term engagement.

Speaking at the ribbon cutting last Thursday, Director of GARA Restaurants Limited, Michelle Myers Mayne said, “At Wendy’s, our goal is not just to grow the business, but we care deeply about deepening our connection with Jamaican people.” She continued, “We’re thrilled to invest once more in the city of Montego Bay and to create opportunities for its residents as well as citizens in surrounding areas. Wendy’s is a family brand first, and we are ecstatic to welcome residents of Montego Bay into our family. The community’s support so far has been incredible, and we’re excited to continue building those relationships.”

As part of its broader vision, Wendy’s is dedicated to supporting the community beyond its restaurant walls. Through planned initiatives in education, youth empowerment, and local partnerships, Wendy’s aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of Montego Bay residents.

“Our Whitter Village location represents Wendy’s commitment to delivering great food, developing meaningful relationships, and supporting the communities we serve,” Myers Mayne added.
