Fintech company WiPay recently established its North American operations and has already inked a major American deal valued in excess of J$100 million with Naseberry Corp.

Owned by Jamaican businessman Marco Brown, Naseberry Corp has the exclusive rights for Miami Carnival’s bars and concessions for the three days of festivals including Panorama, J’ouvert and Miami Carnival Mas. Naseberry Corp has held the exclusive franchises for Miami Carnival for the past seven years, with Brown being actively involved in south Florida’s entertainment industry for over four decades.

“We have been following WiPay’s work in the Caribbean and were very excited to learn of their expansion into (North) America to bring their services to the US market.”

“Naseberry Corp is very excited about this partnership as it would bring a wave of new payment technologies that would not only improve our efficiency and customer satisfaction with payments, but also improve on our security and chargeback risks with an execution of this scale,” said Brown.

“We have been following WiPay’s work in the Caribbean and were very excited to learn of their expansion into (North) America to bring their services to the US market.”

Naseberry will be introducing a VIP experience to this year’s events called ‘Carnival Cash’. This would allow patrons and partygoers to purchase a special Carnival digital currency which they would then use on their mobile phones to make purchases throughout the three-day Carnival weekend, without the need for cash or credit card. Carnival Cash patrons would benefit from skipping the line at certain entrances and would have access to special VIP bars and food areas, avoiding the lines at the regular cash bars.

WiPay (USA), which provides payment services through Colour Bank, just recently soft launched its North America operations on September 4 at Atlanta’s Annual Jerk Festival held at the Southeast Athletic Complex, Lithonia, Georgia. WiPay (USA) would be processing payments for the entire weekend of Miami Carnival starting with Tipsy Miami, the Burna Boy Concert, Panorama, J’ouvert and Miami’s Carnival Parade. This year’s Miami Carnival weekend is expected to attract more than 200,000 partygoers.

WiPay (Caribbean) is the Caribbean’s leading payment facilitator with operations in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, St Lucia, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Cayman Islands, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

WiPay (USA) provides payment services including customised payment solutions, online payment gateway and physical card-present terminals for debit and credit card processing in the United States.
