For a third consecutive week, prices will continue to trend marginally higher for Jamaican motorists and industry giants this week, following a cost revamp by state-owned refinery, Petrojam,
Effective midnight Thursday (January 25), 87-octane gasolene will cost $0.25 more than its baseline price from the week prior. The product now opens at $166.14 per litre, after applied taxes
The price increases, generally consistent across Petrojam’s closely watched petroleum product price index, were more pronounced for propane and butane, which will generally start selling J$2.30 and J$2.69 respectively.
On the other hand, prices for heavy fuel oil (HFO) and kerosene were the only commodity to fall over the past seven days, dropping $3.06 and $1.31 this week.
It is expected retailers will add their respective mark-ups to the announced prices.
