Starting off the new year, the Festival of Jazz in the Gardens: The Best of 2024 will take place on January 19 from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, at the Jamaica Pegasus Gardens.

 This highly anticipated event celebrates the best musical performances of 2024 while supporting women’s empowerment through its partnership with the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation.

A star-studded lineup

Audiences can look forward to a captivating evening of live music featuring some of Jamaica’s finest talents:

• Tammy T: Known for her spellbinding vocals.
• The legendary Fab 5: Delivering iconic melodies.
• Everton Pessoa and his Big Band: Masters of soulful brilliance.
• Soulchild Tanice: Enchanting audiences with velvety tones.

This year’s festival will showcase an unforgettable blend of R&B classics from the 50s to the 70s, fused with Jamaica’s rich musical traditions of ska, mento, rocksteady, and reggae. It’s a celebration of the island’s vibrant heritage, guaranteed to resonate with every generation.

Supporting women, changing lives

Proceeds from the Festival of Jazz in the Gardens will benefit the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering adolescent mothers. The Centre provides education, life skills training, and vocational opportunities to help young women build independent, sustainable futures for themselves and their families.

“Music has the power to unite and transform,” says event organizer Shikima Hinds. “By partnering with the Women’s Centre, the festival goes beyond entertainment, becoming a platform for meaningful change. Together, we can uplift and inspire these young women.”
