JamWorld in St Catherine, the venue famous for being the home of one night reggae and dancehall show STING, is now owned by the Government of Jamaica.

The announcement came last night (November 8) from Olivia Grange, minister of culture, gender, entertainment and sport, as she addressed the STING Relaunch at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

The venue, Grange said, will be built out as one of the greatest entertainment complexes to be found in the hemisphere.

However, until then, STING is set to return this upcoming Boxing Day (December 26) at Plantation Cove in St Ann, after a seven-year hiatus.

According to Grange, the Government has big plans to build up JamWorld so it will, in the near future, once again host entertainment shows like STING.

“It will be built out as one of the greatest entertainment complex that you will find in this hemisphere,” she said.

Confirmed dancehall artistes for the upcoming show so far are: Skeng, Moyann, Jafrass, KipRich, Dovey Magnum and Valiant.
