Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt another blow, with winger Mohammed Kudus sidelined until after the March international break.

The 25-year-old’s afternoon ended almost as soon as it began in Sunday’s 1–1 draw with Sunderland. Kudus pulled up after just 19 minutes, clutching his thigh before being forced off. The injury has since been diagnosed as a tendon issue in his quad, ruling him out for the coming weeks. Spurs expect him to return when Premier League action resumes on 11 April.

Signed for £55 million from West Ham last summer, Kudus has found the net twice in the league this season. His absence adds to a growing list of headaches for Thomas Frank, whose side slipped to a frustrating 3–2 defeat against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

That result leaves Tottenham languishing in 14th place, with only seven wins from 21 league games. The loss was made harder to take by the fact it came against a Bournemouth team that had gone 11 top-flight matches without a victory, a run that had stretched into club record territory.
