The Jamaica Constabulary Force recently reported that 577 pistols were seized during targeted operations carried out by the police in 2022.

This was a 10 per cent increase in pistols seized compared to the previous year.

According to the police, this is the highest number of pistols seized in the last 10 years by the security forces.

Ammunition seizure also went up by 58 per cent in 2022, with over 15,000 rounds seized during targeted operations by the police.
