Angela Bassett and Dawn Lewis appointed ambassadors for Antigua and Barbuda

American actress Angela Bassett and her female counterpart Dawn Lewis has been appointed tourism ambassadors by the government of Antigua and Barbuda with the role of promoting the country as a tourism destination.

According to the Antiguan government, Basset has shown her love for Antigua by visiting frequently and using her star power that has been earned by participation in scores of movies.

The government said that the women’s appointment is voluntary and does not involve any remuneration. and they have agreed to make appearances on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda.

Bassett and Lewis are currently in Antigua to take part in the country’s Sailing Week which runs from April 29 to May 5.

 It is one of Antigua’s most notable events held in the waters off English Harbour, St Pauls Antigua.

Bassett is popularly known for her role in films such as Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and others.

Dawn Lewis is best known for her role on the NBC television sitcom A Different World, she acted and also co-wrote the opening theme for the series.
