Nearly two months after a devastating crash that claimed the lives of his trainer and close friends Sina Ghami and Kevin ‘Latif’ Ayodele, heavyweight star Anthony Joshua is preparing to lace up his gloves again.

Promoter Eddie Hearn shared the latest update in Nottingham, England, revealing that Joshua is expected to return to training camp in the coming weeks, with hopes of stepping back into the ring later this summer.

Plans for a massive August clash with Tyson Fury have been pushed back as Joshua focuses on his recovery and rebuilding his rhythm in camp. An opponent for his return has not yet been announced.

The 36-year-old former WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion spoke publicly last month for the first time since the accident in Nigeria, admitting the loss has been unlike anything he has experienced before.

In a deeply personal tribute, Joshua recently had the names of Ghami and Ayodele tattooed on his arms, a permanent reminder of the two men who stood by him throughout his career.
