Tyquendo Tracey is one of Jamaica’s standout track and bobsled athletes, known for his speed, focus and commitment to the sport.

While much of the spotlight often falls on his performances on the track and his serving as an ambassador for Lifespan Spring Water, he also has interests and routines that help shape the person behind the athlete.

Here are five things he loves to do when he is not on the track.

 1. I like to do research into new and upcoming construction techniques. I’ve always enjoyed learning about how things are built and how the industry continues to evolve with new methods and ideas. It’s a space that keeps me curious, and I like staying informed about developments outside of track because I find it both interesting and practical.

 2. I love to play video games. Video games are one of my favourite ways to relax and unwind when I’m not training or competing. I enjoy the challenge, the competition and the escape they provide, and they give me a chance to shift my focus in a way that is still engaging.

 3. I like the river, so I visit whenever I have time. Being around the river is something I find peaceful and refreshing. It gives me a chance to slow down, clear my mind and step away from the usual pace of training and competition, which I really value.

 4. I love to eat, so trying new restaurants is something I really enjoy. I’m always open to discovering new places and trying different types of food. For me, dining out is about more than the meal itself;  it’s about the experience, the atmosphere and enjoying good food in a relaxed setting.

 5. I also like linking up with friends to play dominoes or just chill and chat. I enjoy spending time with friends in simple, easy-going settings where we can laugh, play a game and catch up. Sometimes the best moments are the most relaxed ones, and I appreciate having those kinds of connections outside of track.
