Tobago’s premier jazz experience is back and better than ever! Beachfront Jazz 2026, hosted by Black Two Sugars, continues the island’s rich tradition of jazz, kicking off on May 1st at the Magdalena
Grand Beach & Golf Resort, as part of the Tobago Jazz Music and Golf Weekend.
Building on the success of Beachfront Jazz 2025, which was described as “a cultural movement” and “a beacon of world-class musical excellence in the Caribbean,” Beachfront Jazz 2026 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Caribbean jazz, world-class performances and the electric atmosphere that only Tobago can provide.
The festivities begin on May 1st with Swinging on the Greens, an elegant prelude to the main event, followed by Jam on the Groove – Old Skool Party, allowing guests to enjoy an unforgettable blend of musical nostalgia and island charm.
On May 2nd, the main event, Beachfront Jazz, will come alive with a stellar lineup of featured artists, performing against the breathtaking backdrop of Tobago’s coastline.

Jazmine Ghent – A celebrated and award-winning saxophonist, Dr Jazmine Ghent blends traditional jazz with smooth and contemporary sounds. A Professor of Music, she teaches Music Education and Music Cognition at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Her performances have gained critical acclaim for its emotional depth and stunning improvisations. She is the 2019 recipient of the prestigious NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Jazz Album, “The Story of Jaz”. With seven Top 5 Billboard singles, Ghent’s jazz fusion and dynamic stage presence are sure to captivate audiences at this year’s festival.
Terri Lyons – The 2026 Dimanche Gras winner, Terri Lyons is a force in the Caribbean music scene. With her powerhouse vocals, dynamic songwriting and acting talent, she’s a Calypso legend in the making. Daughter of 7X Soca Monarch winner, Austin ‘Super Blue; Lyons, there is no doubt where her influence in music comes from. She has made a name for herself in the industry, garnering many accolades for her contribution to Calypso music, including the Calypso Monarch title in 2020. She is also the reigning 2025 Queen of Queens (Regional Female Calypso Monarch) winner, having won the title four consecutive times! Her performance at Beachfront Jazz 2026 promises to bring the stage alive with energy and will raise the vibrations!
Ron Reid – Son of the soil, based in Boston, MA, Ron Reid’s a renowned bassist, pannist, composer and arranger, best known for his mastery in Caribbean Folk and Jazz. A Professor in Contemporary Writing and Production at Berklee College of Music, he is the recipient of the 2023 Sunshine Award (NY) for his contributions to Caribbean culture and music education and the 2025 CAMMY awardee for education, mentorship and performance, held at the 10th anniversary of the Cambridge Jazz Festival. Ron Reid’s ability to draw from his vast repertoire will be a highlight of the festival. With his distinctive sound and emotive playing, Reid continues to be a defining figure within the diaspora.
Llettesha Sylvester – Known for her soulful soprano voice, Llettesha Sylvester has quickly made a name for herself as one of the brightest emerging talents in the Caribbean jazz scene. She has graced the stages of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, Jazz Artists on the Greens and the Tobago Jazz Experience, where she blends “elegance with fire and delicacy with daring”. Sylvester is a music educator and holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Alcorn State University, as well as an Artist Diploma in Music. Her vocal agility and emotive delivery promise to elevate the atmosphere of Beachfront Jazz 2026.
Theron Shaw – A distinguished guitarist, composer and arranger, Theron Shaw is known for his ability to seamlessly blend jazz with other genres such as Calypso, soul and global influences. His performances are marked by intricate compositions, masterful arrangements and a deep appreciation for Caribbean and African rhythms. His recordings include The Sojourn, Right Here, Right Now and Gumbo Caribe, each representing Shaw’s continued exploration of acoustic textures, rhythmic diversity and Caribbean narrative. Shaw is also a music educator with degrees from Howard University and the University of the West Indies.
Caryll Warner – A talented violinist, music educator and choral conductor from Tobago, Caryll Warner brings a unique and enriching musical perspective to the stage. Her performances are characterised by expressive violin playing, blending classical and contemporary elements. She holds a BFA in Music from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and an MA in Music Education from Ball State University. She has received multiple awards from the Tobago House of Assembly and the Trinidad and Tobago Biennial Music Festival in recognition of her musical excellence. She is a conductor with the Marionettes Chorale, a member of the Musicians Collective and a former member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Philharmonic Orchestra, the East Central Indiana Chamber Orchestra and the Ball State Symphony Orchestra.
Gerard Balfour – The multitalented pannist, arranger, producer and Soca artist from the sister isle of Tobago is set to captivate audiences. He has performed on multiple stages; most recently at CARIFESTA XV in Barbados.
