Smirnoff vodka customer Chad Gayle has won an all-inclusive trip to Barbados for Crop Over in its recently completed three-month promotion, which ran from February to April 2023.

Arising from his winning the competition, Gayle will be indulging in the ultimate Crop Over experience. From August 3 to 8, he and a guest will be treated with hotel accommodations, ground transportation, tickets to the four main events, a photo shoot, US$500 in spending money, an exciting T-shirt package, and carnival band, Krave, frontline costumes for the road march.

Crop Over, Barbados’ premiere summer festival, attracts visitors from across the globe with its origins tracing back to the 1780s when the island was the world’s largest sugar producer. At the end of the sugar season, there was always a huge celebration to mark the culmination of harvest – the Crop Over celebration.

Gayle, an ecstatic soca lover, says this will be his first time visiting Barbados, noting, “I went to school in Trinidad, so I’ve stopped in Barbados before, but didn’t come off the plane to truly experience the country. I’m looking forward to Kadooment Day, so I get to dress up, meet new people, and experience a new culture. I will also be able to meet up with a few friends I haven’t seen in a while. I’ve never won anything like this before. I’m very grateful for Smirnoff.”

Explaining the motive behind the three-month promotion, Smirnoff brand manager Nadine Hylton shared, “we always want to do something extraordinary for our consumers. Last year it was an all-expense paid trip to Miami Carnival. This year, it’s a trip to Barbados for Crop Over, and each week leading up to this grand prize, we gifted lucky customers with a Smirnoff-branded cooler filled with our products to enjoy responsibly. We’re excited for Chad to experience this, and cannot wait to see him on the road.”

Consumers are encouraged to look for more exciting activities declared Hylton, noting that, “even though the Carnival season in Jamaica is behind us, we will still be present at the events that matter to our consumers in a grand way. Smirnoff is the life as the party, and we want to stay in the mix and keep igniting unforgettable experiences. We’re all about the high energy and creating memorable moments for our consumers.”
