Antoine Semenyo is now weighing his next move as Chelsea joins the growing list of clubs interested in the Bournemouth forward.

Five clubs, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, and now Chelsea, have checked in on the 25-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

The Manchester clubs are believed to have held the most serious talks so far, while Liverpool’s interest could intensify following Alexander Isak’s injury. Tottenham appear to be long shots for the Ghana international, who joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023.

Chelsea’s late entry adds a twist to the race for Semenyo, whose £65 million release clause is only active during the first ten days of January, though it will drop slightly in the summer. The Blues, already stocked with wide options like Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jamie Gittens, have a history of arranging early transfers, as seen with Strasbourg’s Emmanuel Emegha and Sporting’s Geovany Quenda.

Chelsea had also shown interest in Semenyo back in 2019, when he was on loan at Newport County from Bristol City. Bournemouth acknowledge the risk of losing their key player but are open to negotiating with any club willing to let him stay through the rest of the season.
