Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reminding taxpayers that the due date for filing returns for consumption taxes for the month of September is this Friday (November 28).

The consumption taxes in question include general consumption tax (GCT), special consumption tax (SCT), telephone call tax (TCT), and guest accommodation room tax (GART). The original October 31 deadline was extended to facilitate those individuals and businesses affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Taxpayers will not incur penalties for late filing or late payment within this extended period. TAJ is also advising taxpayers that consumption tax returns for October 2025 are also due on November 28.

Therefore, taxpayers will file and pay both September and October returns to meet the November 28 deadline. Taxpayers are reminded that filing is mandatory online on TAJ’s website. Payment can also be made via the TAJ’s eServices platform on its website, using a credit card or debit card with credit card features.

TAJ encourages taxpayers to make use of this additional time to ensure that their filings are accurate and complete, and recommitted to supporting taxpayers during this period.
