Caribbean Producers Jamaica (CPJ) launched The Cellar Society on Friday, April 26, for wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts at Mystic Thai Restaurant in Montego Bay, St. James.
The three-hour affair welcomed esteemed wine lovers across the island in an all-black masquerade ball setting, as they “unmasked” a milestone in Jamaica’s culinary and wine culture.
By curating exceptional wine collections and pairing them with culinary creations and events, the Cellar Society aims to elevate and educate wine lovers to new heights of delight.
Speaking at the launch, regional category manager for wines, spirits and RTDs at CPJ, Kemmar Lewis, said: “Jamaica’s wine culture has evolved tremendously over the years and with the Cellar Society, CPJ is moving beyond delivering cases of wine monthly to wine lovers to curating experiential occasions by partnering with restauranteurs across Jamaica to provide exclusive gastronomy events where “wine” will be the feature presentation. In addition, with the quarterly subscriptions our discerning consumers will be
able to recreate these culinary pairings with wine in the comfort of their homes with their family and friends.”
At the launch event, guests were treated to an evening of sensory indulgence with the pairing of Antinori
Wines with bite-sized dishes from Mystic Thai.
Wine specialist, Shauntelle Duffus, said: “Our team’s work in selecting the finest wines from around the world and creating unique pairing experiences that showcase the versatility and complexity of each varietal. With The Cellar Society, we invite our guests to embark on a journey of discovery, where every sip and bite tells a story of passion, craftsmanship, and indulgence.”
