Members of the VM Wealth Management Limited and Dequity Capital Management Limited teams signed copies of the agreement, signalling a strategic partnership between the two entities in May. Participating in the signing are (seated from left) VM Wealth Management Limited’s Deputy CEO Brian Frazer and Chief Operating Officer Allison Mais, and Dequity Capital Management Limited founder and CEO Kadeen Mairs, and Chairman Dr Damien King. Sharing in the occasion are (standing from left) Romario Sterling, manager for Capital Markets at VM Wealth Management; Adam Harris, assistant vice-president for Strategic Investments at the VM Group; Tifain Taylor, chief financial officer at Dequity Capital; and Vyktor Drum, chief legal officer at Dequity Capital.

With its sights set on raising $657.5 million from initial public offer (IPO) of shares at $1.00 per unit, Dequity Capital Management is planning to boost its capital support of local and regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as it maps growth across Jamaica and the Caribbean

The private equity holding company last Thursday, November 13, 2025, filed its prospectus for the IPO on the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s website. In it, Dequity Capital outlined its intentions to use proceeds to reduce debt, pay for expenses related to the capital raise, and support working capital needs.

In particular, additional capital will support new investment opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic focus on supporting SMEs. Dequity Capital’s overarching vision, however, is to expand its reach across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean to SMEs looking for new capital.

“Going public gives us the opportunity to widen participation in our mission of nurturing and scaling small and medium-sized enterprises across the Caribbean,” said Kadeen Mairs, CEO of Dequity Capital Kadeen Mairs while describing the offering as a powerful milestone for the company.

“Our disciplined approach, proven track record and strong governance framework place us in a solid position to continue delivering long-term value. This IPO will provide the capital necessary to accelerate our expansion and strengthen the growth trajectory of our portfolio companies,” he added.

Dequity Capital invests in high-potential businesses that often face barriers to growth due to limited access to capital or management support. Its diversified portfolio includes companies in the financial services, health care, real estate, digital print and media, and insurance brokerage industries.

At present, the company’s strategy centres on driving operational improvements, unlocking value in underpenetrated markets, and building long-term capital appreciation for shareholders.

Representing the lead broker and arranger of the IPO, VM Wealth Management, Dwight Jackson said the IPO underscores growing momentum and investor interest in Jamaica’s private equity landscape.

“This offering creates an accessible opportunity for both retail and institutional investors to own a stake in a diversified portfolio of high-growth Caribbean businesses,” the VM Wealth Management assistant vice-president of Capital Markets explained.

“With its strategic pricing and strong fundamentals, we believe the DCM IPO will unlock significant financial flexibility, fuel further economic development and deliver meaningful long-term value for clients and shareholders,” he further opined.
