Digicel Jamaica is turning up the celebration for its 25th anniversary with the announcement of its highly anticipated Big Birthday Bash, set for Saturday, April 18 at 8:00pm at the Digicel Jamaica Headquarters.
Promising an unforgettable experience, the event will deliver top-tier entertainment, exciting giveaways, and immersive brand experiences as the company celebrates under the theme “Digicel 25: Powered by You.”
Expected to be one of the biggest customer appreciation events of the year, the star-studded showcase will be hosted by Mrs Kitty, Christopher “Johnny” Daley, and Talia Soares-Brown, and feature performances from Chris Martin, Tessanne Chin, Valiant, Digicel Rising Stars alum Akeen Fennell, Jermaine Edwards, and Verlando Small, along with a special surprise guest artiste.
Tickets will not be available at the gate, and entry will not be permitted without a valid ticket. Patrons can secure complimentary entry by participating in Digicel’s in-store promotion. Customers will receive one complimentary pair of tickets when they purchase a SIM card, top up with $1,000 or more, activate a 7-Day Plan or higher, or take advantage of available smartphone deals at any Digicel store.
The announcement follows the official launch of Digicel’s anniversary celebrations with a Thanksgiving Service at Holy Trinity Cathedral, where staff, partners, and stakeholders gathered in reflection and gratitude for a journey powered by Jamaicans over the past 25 years.
Since entering the market in 2001, Digicel has helped move Jamaica from limited mobile access to a digitally connected society, introducing innovations such as GPRS, 4G, and LTE, while expanding access to communities once left behind. Today, with mobile connections exceeding the population, connectivity has become a critical lifeline for education, entrepreneurship, and national development.
Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Jamaica, Stephen Murad, said the milestone reflects the people who have shaped the company’s growth.
“This 25-year milestone belongs to Jamaica. ‘Powered by You’ reflects the customers, communities, and businesses who have transformed connectivity into opportunity, turning simple access into real impact in people’s lives,” he said.
He continued: “From expanding access in underserved communities to powering today’s digital economy, Digicel’s journey has always been driven by the people we serve.”
As the telecommunications landscape continues to evolve, Digicel reaffirms its commitment to ensuring Jamaica remains at the forefront of digital progress.
“The next chapter will be defined by artificial intelligence, digital services, and emerging technologies,” Murad added. “Our responsibility is to ensure Jamaicans are not just connected but empowered to thrive in that future.”
Twenty-five years later, Digicel’s message remains clear: its story is inseparable from Jamaica’s own growth and resilience.
“For 25 years, Digicel was made in Jamaica, for Jamaica, and every step of that journey has been powered by you.”
