Novak Djokovic will not compete at the upcoming Madrid Open as he continues to recover from injury ahead of the French Open.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion has not played since his defeat to Jack Draper at Indian Wells last month, with a shoulder issue keeping him off the court.
Djokovic also missed tournaments in Miami and Monte Carlo, and has now opted to sit out Madrid as he focuses on getting back to full fitness.
The 38 year -old says his priority is recovery, as he works toward a return in time for the clay court season’s biggest events.
