Sprinting legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce heads the list of 10 Jamaicans down to compete at the Wanda Diamond League in Doha, Qatar, on Friday (May 16).
The 38-year-old Fraser-Pryce will line up against two-time world indoor 60m champion Mujinga Kambundji and fellow Jamaicans, Natasha Morrison, Tia Clayton and Tina Clayton in the 100m.
Fraser-Pryce opened her season on April 19 at the Velicity Fest in Kingston clocking a wind-aided 10.94 before representing Jamaica at the World Athletics Relays last week.
Eyes will be on the emerging twin sisters Tia and Tina Clayton as they are expected to be the future stars of Jamaica as the changing of the guards might be nearer than expected.
Olympic triple jump silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts will compete against Olympic champion Thea Lafond and world long jump champion Ivana Spanovic, testing herself in the triple jump for the first time since 2022.

Jamaica will have two competitors in the men’s high jump courtesy of Romaine Beckford and Raymond Richards as the island continue to grow in that event.
Richards fresh from his bronze at the World Indoor in March has been showing good form and will go head to head with New Zealand’s Hamish Kerr who won the silver and home favourite Mutaz Barshim.
Jamaica’s Olympic 110 hurdles bronze medallist Rasheed Broadbell should give a good account of himself as he lines up against Daniel Roberts, Jamal Britt and Lorenzo Simonelli.
Malik James-King should have a chance on the podium when he faces American CJ Allen, Carl Bengtstrom and Berke Akcam in the men’s 400 hurdles while Adelle Tracey will contest the women’s 1500m.
