GenXS Carnival, Jamaica’s first ultra-premium band, has announced the grand opening of its exclusive showroom located at Shop 38, 106 Hope Road, inside the Sovereign Centre Mall in Kingston.

This strategic move places GenXS Carnival at the heart of the city, making its costumes and accessories easily accessible to the public just in time for the Christmas season.

GenXS Carnival’s showroom features a stunning display of nine meticulously crafted costumes, each a masterpiece in its own right. These costumes, namely Magnus, Volcarni, Wendamyr, Aleron, Xengsu, Drakonus, Ferzandra, Ragnar, and Pyrax, showcase the talent of five designers from across the region: Andrew Chuck (Jamaica), Alejandro Gomez (Venezuela), Shawn Dhanraj (Trinidad), Douglas John (Trinidad), and David Dewer (Trinidad).

Drawing inspiration from the immensely popular HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones and its spin-off House of the Dragon, the costumes feature dragon-winged motifs, incorporating whimsical elements that pay homage to the show’s iconic fire-breathing creatures.

Mala Morrison, GenXS director, said: “Our showroom is not just a space to showcase costumes; it’s a journey into the heart of GenXS Carnival. The carefully curated décor, featuring elements from our band launch, creates an atmosphere that encapsulates the essence of our brand. I’m thrilled to welcome masqueraders, and I’m in the store most days to personally guide them through our extraordinary Carnival experience.”

GenXS Carnival understands the importance of making the costume selection process seamless and enjoyable. To cater to this, the band offers convenient payment options including online payments, cash transactions, and point-of-sale transactions at the showroom. Masqueraders visiting the showroom can engage in an interactive experience, trying on costumes, backpacks (wings), and headpieces while sipping on a complimentary glass of wine or Rum Stripe.

The showroom offers a physical touchpoint for masqueraders who may be undecided, providing a great opportunity to visit with friends and family members to assist in the decision-making process.

The showroom is open Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
