Technology solutions provider Growth Tech has acquired majority shares in Innovative Systems Ltd, a leading retail provider of IT products, office, school supplies, business services and gifts. With majority ownership by Growth Tech, Innovative Systems will now become a subsidiary of the Growth Tech Group. Innovative Systems Limited (also known as ‘Innovative Superstore’) is a family-owned business (incorporated on June 9, 1987) with two locations being Sovereign Centre, Liguanea and The Super Valu Towne Centre, Constant Spring Road.

Lesa Chang, co-founder and chief operating officer of Innovative Systems, commented: “It has been an honour and a pleasure to have served Jamaica providing outstanding products and services over the past 35 years.”

Chang added: “The company’s successes are numerous and we are excited about this new partnership. Innovative Systems is a part of our family and it was important for us to find the right partner which would be the right fit for the business and the brand to move it forward, and to continue the legacy that we have built. The whole process of legacy planning and succession planning for Innovative was a priority and, in that, we feel we have found the right partner in Growth Tech to take Innovative forward.”

Garth Walker, director of Growth Tech, will take the helm of Innovative Systems, overseeing its day-to-day operations.

In speaking on the deal, Walker stated: “Through market segmentation and targeted marketing, the Innovative brand will reach new audiences and increase its market share, both on the business to customer and business to business. An integrated marketing approach will be used incorporating both traditional and digital media, to further enhance the presence of the brand in the market going forward. The expansion of our E-commerce platform is also an immediate plan.”

Growth Tech Limited offers a wide range of technology solutions, both hardware and software for companies and individuals. The company is well known from its partnership with the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC), for the provision of free wi-fi to Jamaicans and wi-fi marketing opportunities to several brands.

NEW BOARD

Additionally, the company provides outsourced information technology (IT) solutions to businesses in Jamaica which include network security, video surveillance, network design and installation, cabling, fleet management, and remote network management.

The company was formed by Walker, Ryan Reid and Neil Lawrence in 2016.

The new board of Innovative Systems Ltd will comprise Walker as executive chairman, Reid, Lawrence, Lesa Chang and Stephen Chang.
