Reggae star Jah Cure, formally known as Siccature Alcock, will attend the Netherlands Court of Appeal hearing on June 18.

The Prison Walls singer will know his fate as to whether Dutch prosecutors will pursue an attempted murder charge against him.

Jah Cure is about to face a crucial moment in his legal journey as, over the past few months, a Dutch investigative judge has been gathering testimonies from witnesses, while prosecutors appeal the initial trial’s decision to acquit him of attempted murder.

Additionally, the artiste’s legal team has also challenged his manslaughter conviction. During this time, the court of appeal will review the case and make a final decision.

Jah Cure has been in pretrial detention in Amsterdam since his 2022 conviction for attempted manslaughter.

He received a six-year sentence after stabbing Dutch concert promoter Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blake over unpaid performance fees in October of 2021. However, he was cleared of the most serious attempted murder charge, with judges ruling that the act was not premeditated.

The substantive hearing has been scheduled for June 18, 2025.
