Local technology solutions provider Optimity Group has announced a franchise agreement partnership with a London-based company Nebula GCC to develop cutting-edge e-wallet solutions tailored to the Middle Eastern Market.

Optimity and its partner are scheduled to launch a proof of concept in the first quarter of 2025 aimed at redefining the travel experience in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Utilising Optimity’s propriety e-wallet technology under its AITIX brand, this latest initiative will assess visitors’ activity patterns and preferences as they move around the city of Dubai with a view to enhancing the experiences and offerings for visitors.

The partnership between Optimity and Nebula GCC was initiated during the September 2023 Ministerial Export and Investment Business Mission to London led by the Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce Senator  Aubyn Hill. These missions are a part of the ministry’s thrust to grow the exports of Jamaica goods and services by engaging the private sector to visit new markets where, with the support from the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), they are able to meet with and engage potential buyers.

Commenting on the partnership, Minister Hill said, “It is essential for Jamaican companies like Optimity Group to understand the business opportunities available beyond our borders. Jamaican MSMEs have consistently demonstrated that they can compete globally when they explore international markets.”

“It is exciting to see how Jamaican MSMEs continue to punch above their weight in the global arena, once they are willing to look for opportunities outside of Jamaica. JAMPRO is pleased to have played a role in bringing this partnership together through the work of our London office,” noted JAMPRO President Shullette Cox.

The partnership was cemented during a recent follow-up ministerial mission to London and Liverpool in the United Kingdom

“The partnership with Nebula was important for our growth strategy to enter new markets. We see the contract with the Dubai Ministry of Tourism as having the potential to push our technology beyond our original scope. I am grateful that the Government of Jamaica, through the business ministry and JAMPRO, has this programme in place to introduce non-traditional companies like mine to global markets,” commented Mario Sparkes, CEO of the Optimity Group.

Andrew Tyler-Holland, CEO of Nebula GCC added: “Since developing the relationship with Optimity, Nebula GCC have had unwavering support from JAMPRO have been there at every turn helping navigate from introduction to contract exchange and beyond. Nebula GCC looks forward to realising this prosperous opportunity that lies ahead of us.”

The Optimity Group, through their subsidiary companies Purple Team and MS Tech, is a JAMPRO client and a former member of the corporation’s Technology Accelerator Project, which ended in July 2024. It is also in Cohort 4 of Export Max, which was launched in July 2024.

Optimity’s expansion into the Middle East, facilitated by its franchise arrangement out of London, strengthens the Group’s commitment to optimise safety, security, functionality and quality of life across industries.
