Jamaican Twitter loving Miss Universe Miqueal-Symone Williams’ national costume

The verdict is out, and local Twitter users continue to shower Miss Jamaica Universe Miqueal-Symone Williams with praise as the national costume was revealed on Thursday night (May 13).

Williams, who graced the national costume pre-show stage rocking a sublime outfit inspired by Jamaica’s national flower, the Lignum Vitae. The delicate but colourful costume evoked many positive reactions from Twitter users. 

Voting is also open for Jamaicans to place Miqueal-Symone Williams among the best national costume delegates, as the competition is two days away from the grand coronation.

The 69th Miss Universe Competition gets underway on Sunday, May 16, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

In an Instagram post, Williams explained that the ensemble was designed in collaboration with Dermoth Williams couture and Ernesto Castro. 

“My national costume this year was inspired by the Lignum vitae, the national flower of Jamaica. It was an honour to share a part of my Jamaican culture on the @missuniverse stage,” the 24-year-old wrote.
