
Assistant referee at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), Stephanie Yee Sing has been named as a match official at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand slated for July 20- August 20 this year.
The international governing body of football published the list of match officials yesterday (January 9) which includes 33 referees, 55 assistant referees and 19 video match officials.
According to a recent publication by FIFA, the officials were chosen based on quality and performances delivered at FIFA tournaments as well as at other international and domestic competitions in recent years.

The chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, Pierluigi Collina, also noted that, “as always, the criteria we have used is ‘quality first’ and the selected on-field match officials represent the highest level of refereeing worldwide”.
He further said: “We all remember the very successful FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 in France. The high standard of refereeing contributed significantly to that success. The aim for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 is to repeat that success and to convince again with excellent referees’ performances.”
Yee Sing, among other referees selected to officiate, will be participating in seminars and practical training sessions in Doha and Montevideo between January and February in preparation for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
