Jamaica College (JC) swept the ISSA urban youth football titles, beating Kingston College (KC) to win the Under-14 and Under-16 crowns on Wednesday at the Stadium East field.

In the Under-14, JC beat KC 4-3 on penalties after playing to a 1-1 draw in normal time. Owayne Feautado had given KC a 46th-minute lead, but that didn’t last long as Namer Francis pulled JC levelled in the 51st minute. It was the first goal KC had conceded this season.

JC recovered from missing their first two spot kicks to win the penalty shootout on a wet and soggy field that clearly hampered the players, as they were more focused on placing the ball in the right spot before each kick.

In the Under-16 final, JC defeated KC 2-1 and ended a wonderful day for the boys from Old Hope Road, which had lost the Under-19 Manning Cup final to Excelsior High.

Tevin Savge (11th) and Emanuel Donalds (80+4), while Davian Clarke replied for KC with a consolation goal in the 80+6 minute.

JC’s Under-14 will now meet rural champions Garvey Maceo in the all-island final on Wednesday, March 18. Garvey Maceo defeated William Knibb 4-2 on Thursday with goals from Kerick Clarke (6th, 10th), Leighton Walker (62nd) and Marshall March (64th).

In the rural Under-16, Cornwall College beat Glenmuir High 4-1 and set a date with JC also on Wednesday, March 18, for the all-island title.

KC’s Under-14s and St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) Under-16 are the all-island champions.
