
Montego Bay United and Racing United battled to a 1-1 draw in their top-of-the-table clash at the Ferdie Neita Park, while Waterhouse FC continued their good form, beating Dunbeholden FC 2-1.
It was as-you-were at the top of the table with Montego Bay United inching to 46 points and maintaining their seven-point lead over Racing United on 39 points.
Dwight Merrick gave Montego Bay a 39th-minute lead before Tajay Grant earned a share of the points from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, Waterhouse FC continued their good run, notching their fourth consecutive win, beating Dunbeholden 2-1. Atapharoy Bygrave, who left Waterhouse in the last transfer window, gave his new club Dunbeholden a 35th-minute lead before Javane Bryan pulled Waterhouse level in the 54th minute. Roberto Avila Quiros then found the winner for Waterhouse, scoring in the 57th minute.
Waterhouse have consolidated fifth spot on 33 points, while Dunbeholden are 10th on 25 points and still in contention for a top-six playoff spot.
At the Stadium East Complex, Fabian Reid scored twice in the 41st and 76th minutes as Arnett Gardens blanked fierce rivals Tivoli Gardens 2-0, and leapfrogged them into the sixth spot on 29 points. Tivoli Gardens have slipped out of the playoff spot to be in seventh on 28 points.
At the Compound, home team Harbour View were beaten by Portmore United 2-1. Jabain Brown gave Portmore United a 29th-minute lead before Trayvonne Reid pulled Harbour View level in the 59th minute. But Peter McGregor found the clincher for Portmore United netting in the 68th minute.
Portmore United maintained their good run into the payoffs to be in third spot on 39 points, while Harbour View—the 2022 champions—are struggling, sitting in the relegation zone in 13th spot on 16 points.
Harbour View are five points behind the promoted Treasure Beach, who got a valuable point in their 0-0 draw with Mount Pleasant to be on 21 points in 12th spot. Mount Pleasant are fourth on 37 points.
At the Constant Spring field, Molynes United and Phoenix Chapelton Maroons played to a tame 0-0 draw. Molynes United are in 11th spot on 23 points, with Chapelton Maroons just ahead in ninth spot, on 26 points.
On Monday, champions Cavalier in eighth spot on 26 points take on bottom-placed Spanish Town Police FC on 12 points. It’s a crucial game for both teams, with Cavalier trying to stay in touch of a top-six playoff spot and Spanish Town seeking points to avoid relegation.
